RWA Conference - Reno Nevada - Wednesday
I'm not being a good girl today, but it's the headache, which feels like a hangover. Can you get a hangover from excitement high? Well I did.
Attended the Beau Monde conference Wednesday. Love the Beau Monde! Not just getting together with a hundred or so people I love, but for all the great research information. Bill Haggart presented a fabulous workshop on women in the army (19th Century, mostly). Did yu know the women went right onto the battlefield with the men? Then Tonda Fuller showed us just how early Nineteenth Century women wore their stays, and it was not like the Victorian Era. Great workshop! Here's just one picture.
Love the Literacy Booksigning too. So many friends have their first book out this year. Marcie Dodge in the second photo is the Bookseller of the Year, with Kathy Caskie, a 2002 Golden Heart finalist and current double RITA finalist. Next is June Ulrich, writing as Sophia Johnson. See that great poster? I designed it. Critiqued the book too. You gotta read it. It's great. The fourth is Pam Rosenthal with Chris Keeslar, Dorchester editor. Can you believe this man thinks he doesn't take a good picture? Little does he know I'm patterning my vampire after him...
Leah Vale in number 5 is from Rose City Romance Writers, and number 6 is Sophia Nash a 2002 Golen Heart finalist and current RITA finalist with Linda Needham from Rose City. And then there's Sandy Blair, a 2003 Golden Heart winner and current RITA finalist, with my always favorite author Jo Beverley. The last is Sandy again, hoding her latest bumper sticker. It's blurry. I must've been laughing too hard.
Wow, what a night! Barely had any energy left for the Beau Monde soiree.
